The bell rang, Bessy appeared and took a short letter away.
Miss Susan turned to her loved one who was comfortably seated on a sofa.
"I am keeping a secret from you, my dear," she said.
"I know you are," replied he, smiling.
"You are so wise," laughed she and rose to place herself closer to him.
"I sure am. And I think it is very wise of me not to ask you about the nature of that secret."
"Exactly so."
"Am I guessing rightly that the secret does not concern you personally nor myself?"
"Yes dear, that's right."
"Then, keep it well to yourself untill you or the people concerned can reveal it," said he, holding her hand.
"That is exactly what I intend to do," smiled she contently, picking up her needlework to continue the embroidery in perfect, happy silence.
