I don't understand why I was and still am so upset over Cory's death. I didn't know him. I didn't know much about him. I liked Finn, but he wasn't my favourite

Right? I mean, I've gotten upset about other celebrities deaths and very very sad over fictional characters deaths* but then there's Cory and I almost feel like I've lost a pretty good friend.
*I'm okay with being extra sad over fictional characters' deaths because you do get to 'know' them.
i was sad for a long time. for a week right after he died, i basically just hid in my bedroom and tried to make sense of things. i honestly think it's because i really do believe he's a kind, kind person, and it's such a loss to have that kindness remove from the world.
I feel ya. I may have stopped watching Glee after the second season or so, but I loved the first season and the character of Finn and esp. Finn/Rachel, then to see it translate from on-screen to off-screen with Cory and Lea was pretty cool to see (I also loved the role reversal from their characters to the actors in terms of their relationship).
And of course, I can't watch that Teen Choice Awards speech from Lea with a dry eye. Nope.
On Glee, Cory played the popular jock and Lea played the outsider, but in reality Cory was a high school dropout and Lea was this famous Broadway actress. I remember when the rumors started that they were dating and people couldn't believe that Lea would be attracted to him as though he was "beneath" her, but none of that seemed to matter to them.
