Leeds festival was THE ACES.
The lineup wasn't qutie as good as say...V festival...but I had WAY more fun at Leeds, because LOADS of people I knew were there!
Got there on Thursday, pitched up, got a bit drunk, then thought it'd be a good idea to have my first dabble with Class As...£13 worth of MDMA and an hour or so later, I was wondering around the festival site, marveling at the funfair ride lights and just going on and on about how completely ACE life is...it was alot of fun. I was SUPER happy! I also apparently spent about an hour sending Katie an email. from my phone.
Friday was my 'shit day' in terms of the lineup, but I still had alot of fun and saw some ace acts...Sway and 2manyDjs were the highlights, the latter were especially ace. They had about 60 people on stage just having a party, basicially...a bar was also set up on stage, and free alcohol was distributed to the crowd. Fun! We also went to the silent disco after bands finished, which was WEIRD AS! we started a silient conga line! It was also fun to take off the headphones every now and then and listen to everyone singing along, out of tune...seriously. Silent discos are the future.
Saturdays highlights were Belle and Sebastian (obviously. it IS me), YYYs and Dizzee Rascal, who absolutely blew me away. New stuff sounded really impressive. The crowd were absolutely nuts, and basicialy, live, his stuff is immense. ACE!
Sunday I got ill...so I missed Plan B and Be Your Own Pet. Gastro-something I think...they thought I might have appendicitis...but I'm feeling completely fine now. So I guess I dont. ANYWAY! after I left Leeds festival hospitial. I went and saw some bands. Arctic Monkeys were the very very obvious highlight of the day (again, it's me.) Though the Noisettes and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah also really impressed. The Streets were a bit boring. I felt really ill again after Monkeys, so I missed Muse. Not massively arsed really, don't particularly like the new album and I've already seen 'em twice.
It took me FUCKING AGES to get back home from Leeds because of bank holiday traffic and the Notting Hill Carnival. bah.
Katie's back tomorrow! YAY! ...We made it through the summer, then! :)
