Via the NADS message board, I stumbled upon one of those online quizzes (at OKCupid!) that happens to be about a topic I know something about: linguistics. Here's the LJ code they give you on the last page:

There's just no making you happy, is there? The purple purple puff prose; the gold statue; the 99th percentile score -- it's all but a vasty nothing! If you can't get every answer right, there must be something wrong with the test. littleminx, you better get a perfect score or else! :P

And in the meantime, your lower-scoring readers commit ritual suicides in droves, and the OkCupid robots heap the bodies in lye-soaked pits and cry "VAE VINCIS!" while flagellating themselves with printouts of the complete corpus of the Hittite Dictionary Project, soaked with their blood-red hydraulics.

PS: I haven't done the test yet. Huge performance anxiety! Especially as I never even got my degree, let alone publish, lol.

Yeah, i was just thinking that. Except... i'm WAY too lazy to do a 400 question test on languages. I can eat glass, it does not harm me.

It's no where near 400 questions -- that's just what they make the score out of.
