A Very Special Christmas Card

Dec 17, 2010 21:26

2010 has been a rough year and December has been a particularly stressful month.

The Christmas Card that I received in the mail today really puts everything in perspective and reminds me that anything in possible.

Christmas Card is from My Mom

Mom has spent five months at Jasper Place, Continuing Care Facility in Edmonton.
Mom is waiting for an Extended Care space to come available.

Between January - July Mom spent most of the time in the hospital.

We didn't know if Mom would see Mother's Day in May or her 79th Birthday in August.

While Mom will require Extended Care for the Rest of Her Life, Mom is still alive and well enough to send out Christmas Cards.

It puts all of the crap of the past year into perspective.

Hugs,
Heather Anne
