2010 started off being surrounded by close Friends at S&E's NYE Party at their new house. Many of us crashed there and we had breakfast together the next morning. It was a great way to ring in the new year.
After that initial good start, things have been rough for many of those around me.
Two Coworkers lost their Mother. It has been a rough period for them for a while.
My Mom was admitted to Hospital in Edmonton for Emergency life saving surgery.
My Good Friend/Family Member Kynborough was in a car accident.
Mom has been doing well since her surgery and has now been moved to another hospital south of Edmonton for the next stage of her recovery.
Kynborough has been doing Okay since the car accident.
Nothing broken, some muscle injuries, some bumps and bruises and four suchures at the top of her forehead.
I just had an Awesome Weekend with a visit from Talyn. I admire her ability to get up at 4:30 am so she could be on the 11:00 ferry on Saturday. I met her at Swartz Bay and we went to Alzu's for some Brunch. We got settled back into things at my place and made Dinner Reservations at Japanese Village. Sassyleigh and Kynborough joined us for dinner Saturday night. It was a wonderful dinner experience.
On Sunday Talyn and I got up and once again we hit Alzu's for Brunch. After a brief stop back to my Place we picked up Kynborough and headed over to Destini's place for a visit. We visited Destini and clan for the better part of the day. When it came time for dinner, the six of us went to The Fountain Restaurant for some Chinese Food. It was good food and good socializing all around.
On Monday Talyn went with me to my Doc appointment and visit to my pharmacy. If I knew how long it was going to take to fill my presrciptions, I would have taken Talyn downtown and come back to pick them up. As it was we did make it to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to purchase some Maple Fudge prior to taking Talyn to catch her bus. A wonderful visit all around.
Purpose of my Doctor's visit was to refill some prescriptions and look at the pain in the right shoulder and my continuous trouble sleeping.
As of yesterday: My Primary Pain Control Med remains at 300 mg/day. My usual dose in the Winter. My Secondary Pain Control Med has been doubled from 30 to 60 mg/day. I am typically taking my anti-inflammatory meds and the muscle relaxant once per day. The Codeine and Oxycodone are taken as needed for pain. I am now taking two medications to help me fall asleep faster and sleep better.
Project for the near future is to write out what I am currently taking and keep it in my wallet in the event that someone needs the information.
So today I spent the better part of an hour at the Tax Services Office talking with a Woman from the Child Tax Benefits Enquires Services office about Child Tax Benefits. Explaining that I moved from 260 Tolcross effective April 5th, 2008. Effective this date, I was no longer living with D/J/Z and therefore should not be receiving the CTB for J&Z. One of the reasons the process took to long, was when the Woman was updating my file and she needed to list why I was no longer eligible for the CTB on my Stepsons, "I moved out" was not one of the drop down options she had to choose from. The Laws in the Society in which we live are positively Victorian. Sigh. On the plus side, D will get a nice retro cheque when everything is eventually sorted out.
Went to Dance this evening. It had been a while. I usually work too late on Tuesday to make it. It was nice to see everyone that I hadn't seen in a while. It also gave AD and I a chance to set a date for the next Masked Ball/Tavern. Looks like April 24th is going to be the day.
That is all the news for this month.
Hope the New Year is going well for you.
Hugs,
Heather Anne
