So, I've been meaning to post an entry. Nothing personal, because thats passé and are you trying to read my diary? I have been meaning to though, post something. At first I thought a discussion on the notion of friendship in German society and culture, from a linguistic perspective. Then I thought I would rant about "The Assasination of Julius Caesar: A People's of Ancient Rome" by Michael Parenti. I had pages to quote and references to other literature lined up. But I've found something that trumps them all. When is the last time you've considered how bad ass the movie "Blade Trinity" is?
It's just that bad ass. To start, staring Wesley Snipes, from other such notable films as "Demolition Man", "Waiting to Exhale", and "White Men Can't Jump", it does not fail to deliver a round house performance of ass-kicking proportions. From the superbly sparse and poignantly chosen dialog , to the stylish tattoos adorning his head, he was perfectly type cast to play such a role. Plus he introduces a feeling of diversity because almost every other character outside of his mom, is white. Sometimes its a difficult to place American one or a difficult to place European one. He knows exactly when to ruffle, straighten, and take off his jacket, the sword he carries is so bad ass, it puts an entire army of vampire gods to shame, and his sunglasses imbue him all the powers normally associated with the holy grail.
Wesley Snipes's ragtag team of technical and fighting compadres leaves the viewer wanting more. With their subservient yet supremely confident mannerisms, they are the perfect back up to a man that single-handedly saved the human race from our nemesis. From blind computer wiz, nerdy but alluring tech-man, the man with a perfect catch phrase for every line, to a vampire fighter who is so talented, she likes to listen to "trip-hop" or "drum'nbass" while she hunts, they will tug at your heart while they tear a vampires out.
The plot is as air tight and bullet proof as a sinking fortress. Not only is the urvampire awoken but he from the get-go compares himself to Blade as a worthy foe following a bushidoesque code would. Not only is he willing to admit to the superiority of blade, he is also willing to learn from him. For example, this aged relic of the past relishes in the phrase "Mother Fucker" and despite being a foreigner of ancient renown, manages to use it correctly almost seamlessly.
After watching this film I realized that a life is not complete without having seen this film though to watch this film is to know perfection, and life after perfection just isn't worth. So as a caveat, this film might make you want to kill yourself.
