This is a D&D Post. Feel free to ignore it if you aren't a nerd.
Nerd Stuff Follows
Okay, so, I've decided to try my hand at DMing again. Here's hoping that
A. I can get characters and
B. this won't fail miserably.
So, what's this game, you're wondering? Well, in lieu of the usual arthurian-era fantasy that D&D so often is, I've decided to try something different. To put it simply, this campaign will be entitled:
The Feywild West. Gunslingers meet magicslingers.
meets
.
I've already got one player interested (Don, a.k.a. Tashia, a.k.a Hovercraft, a.k.a.
agiganticjerk), and I'd like at least 3 more, 4 would be ideal. If you want to reskin something to fit the Western trope more, contact me and we'll figure something out. Level 11 characters, pretty much any race/class works.
Character sheets will be on iplay4e (see: the Feywild West link up there). This means two things:
1: you will need to use the D&D character builder, but really, you should be anyway...
and 2: you will need an iplay4e account. It's free and simple, and if you have a Google account for anything, you're already set, as it'll just use that.
If you are interested, contact me via here or email (or the rare IM, should I be online). I'm really wanting to get this up and running relatively soon. By the end of the month would be best. It'll be played right here on LJ.
There will likely be a few more posts here explaining a bit more of the world, but here's a taste to pique your curiosities.
"You know, this whole "Manifest Destiny" thing would be one hell of a lot easier if The Sovereign Host would just wipe out all these damned dragonborn settlements. We fought past those wretched gnolls that run wild in Nebraska Territory up through the northern Minnesota Territory, but they were just heathen brutes. These dragonborn... they have their own weird gods at their side. Makes 'em a lot tougher, more willing to fight back. And where do they keep getting those rifles from?
And these lycanthropes only make matters worse. How's a magewright supposed to lay down a lightning rail when they keep blowin' up the damned conductor stones? And with the only American Cannith house way up in New York... makes me wish the Silver Flame had more presence out West sometimes...
And now, every damned eastern city slicker adventurer heard of this so-called mithril-rush, and all of a sudden Utah and all of the Great Wastes are swarming with claimjumpers, all just hoping to strike it rich with no real work. And now, Dusthowl is full of gangs, I tell ya, the Utah Territory is just not the place for an old-fashioned Dwarf anymore."
