Happy Easter!
Hello! Is the weekend already over? I meant to post on Friday, but spent the evening watching five episodes of Stargate Atlantis instead.
Holy Hell, David Hewlett can act! My reactions to him in The Strom and The Eye while he was trying to fix the lightening thing-a-ma-gigger and argue against Kolya while trying to stay alive were very similar to what I thought of Michael Shanks in the early season 1 SG-1 episode Fire and Water. Now I'm not about to say I loved Fire and Water, on the contrary, it was far from the best Stargate has to offer and is an episode that should be almost forgotten (except for the asterisk it should get for being an episode where Daniel sort of dies), but I saw a spark there. I thought most of Daniel's scenes with Nem were way overacted, but I thought Shanks was going for it balls to the wall and I blinked and went "woah". Had the same reaction to David Hewlett on Friday.
I also liked the scene between John and Elizabeth where they were arguing in Hot Zone. Wow! Okay, I'm starting to care about the characters now. It took a while, but I'm hooked on SGA. Yay!
That being said, I'm on the hunt for long SGA fics. Anyone have any recommendations? Hope, Slide Into Night is on the top of my list. =)
Magi, have you gone hunting for Richard/Kahlan fic yet?
p.s. Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs are the best part about Easter!
