Sebastian

We were able to catch Sebastian and take him to the vet today. He is FIV and FeLV negative. He has an abscess on his jawline that burst from within. He will need to be hospitalized for several days while they debride the wound, give him antibiotic shots, and check his progress. The wound is very large and there is a great deal of necrotic tissue.

When he is healed, he will be updated on all shots and we will take him for a low cost neuter. The vet recommends keeping him indoors because he is prone to fighting. Unfortunately, neutering is not a guarantee that a cat will no longer get into fights.

He is a sweet boy, but he does not like to be picked up. He has avoided capture for several weeks, which only served to make the abscess worse. I have no idea how he'll do indoors, as I have never seen him indoors. Jim said that he jumped in the window in the exam room, but behaved well.
