Countdown to New York City
On 9th March I leave to head to New York, though the first part of the trip is going down to Bangor, ME the evening before as the bus from Bangor to Portland leaves at 7am. Then I get the train from Portland to Boston, and then Boston to New York City. It'll be a long day of travel but I don't mind. I've done long train trips before - to Chicago in 2004 for VividCon.
Unlike the last time I was down to New York - for the Guiding Light Official Fanclub Luncheon, I didn't have much time to do exploring of the city as I was only down for the long weekend (of the Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend - Oct 10-12, 2009). So this time I booked a few days before and after. Actually, on Sun. 13th, myself, Donna Pool, and a couple others are headed over to Peapack-Gladstone, NJ, where they did the outdoor filming and some inside filming for GL, and then later I'll go down with her to Maryland for the night and see the area down there, coming back to NYC Monday late afternoon.
One of the big reasons I'm headed to NYC this time is Jessica Leccia's Fan Luncheon. Tickets are still available. Saturday, March 12, 2011, 12PM - 3PM. Brother Jimmy's. 116 East 16th Street between Park Avenue South and Irving Plaza, New York, NY 10003. $75. First come, first serve! I didn't have a chance to go to Jess's luncheon last year as it was only a week before I was booked to visit Mom in Florida. For those who don't know, Jessica Leccia was one half of the Otalia pairing on Guiding Light as Natalia Rivera, and currently of One Life to Live and the websoap, Venice the Series
