Is this what I get for eating carrot cake right before going to sleep? :)
I have to write this down before I forget it as it's still rather vivid - enough to make an impression. I don't usually remember dreams. I just woke up from a rather bizarre strange dream in which one of the nurse team leaders that we have at work was teaching a Spanish writing class at the university. Part of which was that we had to come up with writing a story. It didn't matter how long or what the premise was, but that it had to be in Spanish.
As usual I had procrastinated, though I had a rough outline that I'd done up when the assignment was originally handed out. So the by the time I wrote it I was under pressure. I'd worked the night shift and it was due the next morning (ie. just a little over 24 hours after said night shift) by 9am and no later. What had started out as a Babylon 5 general romance story with Ivanova and Talia, had somehow morphed with the Criminal Minds characters to solve a case of kidnapping and torture. The oddest thing was that myself, the nurse from work and a couple other faces I know but couldn't specify were also present. It had come down to the wire with timing and I was up through the next night furiously writing with almost minimal sleep and lots of caffeine til I finished writing it. The first part of the story I'd had translated already into Spanish, but then once I finished writing the story I had to translate the rest of it. Then I had to try and get it over to the university by 9. It was 8:30 at this point and I was tearing around the city on no caffeine and high as a kite on caffeine just to get it to the nurse's office on time.
Phew.
Very, very bizarre.
