Politics good; shiny better

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen the Internet so political... Am not going to join in the ranting because:

A) I really don't know enough about US politics to offer an opinion,
B) It's not my country, so I don't get a say anyway.

I will say that I agree with ariellen when she says that she feels scared that America is so divided... Which is sad. No matter what happened, half the country was going to feel cheated. Such is democracy, I guess... And at least people got involved. The last few elections here have had a pretty low turn out. And then people bitch about how the crap the government is. Huh.

Anyway, enough politics. Have written half of my Greek Democracy & Empire essay that's due in next week... it's going okay, I think. I know what I need to say so hopefully I'll get it done tomorrow and maybe some reading for CLS (Comparative Literature Studies) mand Archaeology before work... Ugh. Work. I'm working tomorrow night, all day Friday and Saturday, Sunday afternoon and Monday evening.

ARGH. I was hoping to go home because it's my friend Rachel's birthday this weekend... Woe. :( The Flatmates think I should quit the job. My friends at home think I should quit. Even my mum thinks I should. Hell, I think I should. And yet I don't want to. Firstly there is the money to consider (although the loan should come through in the next two weeks...), and then... Well, it would feel like quitting. :P Which is dumb, because it IS quitting but I just feel like I need to stick it out. Except I DO have to study and it would be nice to see my friends and stuff... ARGH. :/

So, just because I can...

Poll What should I do?

So, moving on to the shiny... Flatmates (should really amend that to Flatmates I Like, since there's... three of them I don't actually like) have very sick sense of humour. We were all taking a break from essay writing yesterday and played around on rathergood.com. Particular favourites were Pavarotti and, for Ian and Rich in particular, the Buffy Swear-a-tron. I have honestly never seen them laugh so much. The favourite letters were W and M... Don't click on the link if you're at work or with parents. So not good. :P

I preferred The Adventures of Weebl and Bob! Egg shaped dudes who like pie a lot. What's not to like? ;) I like the one where they go to Pikea... Hee. ;)

<3 broadband so much. Have discovered the beauty that is the BBC website. News, AND I can actually listen to the radio. My building appears to be made of metal so I get no reception for anything unless I hang out the window, so it was cool listening to the radio online. And I could listen to stuff from last week! Particularly liked Radio Stoke's Jazz Hour with Mal...someone or other. Oh, and risilisi, you'll like this - I found a recording on the BBC Radio 4 site of Ewan reading an extract from Long Way Round! Was very cool. Love that man's voice a lot. :)

Yes, I am easily amused.
