Also, if I'd realized, I would have set up a separate e-mail for battle.net login. I now very deeply regret using one of my standard ones and there seems no obvious way to change it.

Cancel your billing and type this as the reason in feedback, and then start it back up.
I can't think of anything else off-hand. If you start a thread on the forum, it'll be slammed by a zillion people who don't care about what you're saying, they just want you to shut up.

But yeah, if you suggested food is necessary for survival, people would earnestly argue that everyone should be willing to starve to death while playing WoW. Contrariness is one of the forum's cosmological constants.
