30 Day TV Meme

Again, a tough one. I'm going to go off the beaten path, I think, and say Kramer from Seinfeld.

I was actually never as entertained by Seinfeld as, God, I suppose every other member of my generation. I recognized the brilliance of certain episodes (Master of my domain will forever be a classic, as much for Elaine laying down money saying only, "John. F. Kennedy. JUNIOR" as anything else), and I liked Jerry and Elaine okay even if I wasn't sure I'd actually want to hang out with them (or maybe I would, hard to say). But I found George a reprehensible little toad, and yes, I am aware that that was the point, but that's just...not how entertainment works for me. I don't really enjoy watching truly unlikeable people, particularly in comedy. I can handle it in drama, because usually that person at least has some depth, some glimpses of...something, but in comedy, it just makes me want to change the channel.

But I digress. Kramer. I never found him funny. He was just nails on a chalkboard for me, and it eventually made me stop even the "Oh, hey, there's a rerun of Seinfeld on" I was doing.

I'm sure if I thought much harder, there are other characters I have found more annoying (and no, Elmo is not on that list; the little twerp has actually grown on me; the icon was a fake-out; is it legal to use semi-colons like this?), but when I hear the word "annoying," Kramer is the first person to spring to mind.
