In case I am being too subtle, here's a breakdown.
IF I am supposed to protect my own delicate sensibilities when it comes to fiction that posits an interpretation of the show/book/comic/movie/whatever that actually makes me unhappy, and does in fact often affect my enjoyment of the source itself

All I'm asking for is the same consideration. Don't want to think about race and gender in SPN? Don't click the cut tag! I have no problem with that. I am so incredibly not tallying who comments and who doesn't. And yet, apparently, I am ruining fandom for others.

Hey, I thought tossing graffiti was a great idea. I could see you tossing ribbons of paint -- kind of like the ribbons in rhythmic gymnastics -- and them sticking to the walls in great colorful, expressive loops. Beautiful image.
