I was going to post this whiny screed about how I'd really sort of like to go 24 hours, just one day, without being told that something I love is terrible, awful, unredeemably bad, etc, and how it makes me sad that apparently, to do that, I have to avoid fandom

Also happy-making: Dean, saying "Thankee-sai." I CAN SEE IT. Really. I can see Dean there. It's harder with Sam -- there's something old in Dean that seems to speak of a world that is in the midst of moving on, and Sam is all newness.
I suppose Dean really is Cuthbert, more than anyone, but there is a lot of Roland in him, too. Potentially. There is so much honor imbedded in Dean, how to say? Wouldn't that be a hell of a crossover? Dean and Sam, raised as Roland was? John would have fit right in.
Man, that just made me shiver. Am I nuts? It just...yeah.

I want to say Dean is far more Cuthbert than Eddie, if only because I think in important ways Dean is stronger in most of Eddie's weak spots. And Sam is Alain-ish, but more Susannah, don't you think?
This is NOT getting my kitchen cleaned. But I cannot resist.

*nods* Well, and Dean had a younger brother instead of an older. Dean...hmn. Dean is what Eddie Toren might have been if you add some tragic happenstance. (Someday, I want to read about Eddie and Jake Toren and Susannah-whatever-her-name-is-in-that-world.)
And now that I think on it, Sam is halfway between Susannah and Jake.

YES. He is.
I think it's time for me to do another reread. ::firm nod::
You know what other crossover I'd love? Talisman. I would like for Sam -- whose Twinner died in the fire -- to cross over and meet Dean's Twinner. And have adventures.
