More Q&A

itshewa asked for Top five favorite male characters, and a brief mention of why you groove on them.

Okay, keep in mind that "favorite" for me always means "favorite right now, subject to change at any given moment."

1. Dick Grayson. Well, duh.
2. Eddie Dean, for many of the same reasons, but also for the way he needs to be needed, needs to take care of someone, and the rotten luck that he ends up with Henry as that person and the slightly less rotten luck that lands him with Roland as that person and the better luck that gives him Susannah and Jake. Oh, Eddie, how I love him so!
3. John Sheppard, or was that a given? Okay, yes, I've thought JF was pretty since Sisters, but Sheppard! With the grin and the badass and the black t-shirt and the self-preservation of a housefly (in all the senses of that analogy)!
4. Bill Denbrough, from It. So often, you have characters that other characters would follow into hell, and you don't really understand why. You get it with Bill. Actually, there are a lot of Stephen King characters I like for that reason.
5. John Crichton. Because he breaks so pretty.

(So, who's gonna ask me for the women? Hmn?)

wychwood asked for Top 5 reasons to watch SGA (even when it's lame).

1. John. Rodney. Teyla. Ronon. First season Ford. Well, I watch for Elizabeth, too, but I'm in the minority, there.
2. Banter! Snark! Because you never know what Rodney's going to say next!
3. It's pretty, and I don't just mean the people, although that, too. It's a visually pleasing show.
4. Because you just can't not love a show that would put Western fashions from various historical periods in another galaxy. Which is the larger point: it's fun.
5. Because there is a lot of really, really good fanfiction, and you really don't get the full goodness if you're not watching.

the_moonmoth asked for top five beloved fanfic clichés.

1. I mentioned pining, right? Oh, I love it so.
2. Hurt/comfort. Yeah, I own it.
3. Aliens Made Them Do It. Fluffy, angsty, you name it, I'm there.
4. Sex under the influence, complete with morning after freak-out and realization that they both really wanted it anyway.
5. Misplaced jealousy. You know the kind I mean.

and also top five detested fanfic clichés.

Going for things that I actually dislike as opposed to just being Not My Thing.

1. Grovel!fic, or really any variation on You Big Bully! or the Character A is so meeeean to Character B story. Hate it, loathe it, will hit the back-button at the slightest hint of it.
2. Excessive angst, and by that I mean, "he didn't look at me at dinner, I must go listen to Evanescence at cut myself" angst, not "wow, we're really kinda screwed here" angst.
3. Any misunderstanding that requires that the characters have IQs of 50 and actually be blind.
4. The Evil Harpy Woman Who Maliciously Destroys Our Heroes Because He Loves Him and Not Her (with or without But They Triumph in the End).
5. Song lyrics in fiction. And I mean like, the character listening to the song or godforbid singing it, not epigrams.

karabou, I'm going to do yours either later today or tomorrow, in its own post, on accounta spoilers.
