Wow! That was really exciting and intense, even though I didn't know the characters or background at all :P

I really like the way you wrote it in snippets too- it lets you see more of the situation and that sort of thing. Good job! ^_^

I will try and do that over Winter break. If you remind me then, there's a very good chance that it will happen (depending on what other projects I decided to undertake then :P)

Ooh. I enjoyed this.

I've been surprised by how much I like The Eleventh Hour. I really didn't expect to and only watched it at all because of Rufus Sewell (whom I *adore*). But I like the show, and I like the partnership. I have to admit to liking the UK Rachel just a little better, which is one of the reasons why I like this fic so much. You've given some much-needed (and deserved) substance to the US Rachel. I hope you write more in this fandom.

Me too! I actually hadn't seen any of Rufus Sewell before Eleventh Hour; I've seen most of the pilots I liked the sound of this season, and Eleventh Hour blew me away. I haven't seen the British version - I've actually heard Patrick Stewart wasn't his usual awesome in it. But I'll probably see it sometime :P

I'm glad you liked!

The US Eleventh Hour is one of the few shows that I find to be better than its UK predecessor (unlike, say, the US Life on Mars, which doesn't even come close to how amazing the UK show is). The UK 11th hour is surprisingly boring, in fact, and Patrick Stewart never really seems to connect with the character. I do like the UK Rachel, though. I like the actor who plays her, and they give her character a little more development right from the start. She's more than the bodyguard. She has her own life. I think one of the things in the US version's favor is that there are only 4 episodes of the UK show, so they had to become their own thing right away. They couldn't count on it just being a rehash of the UK scripts like a lot of the other remake shows.

As for Sewell...one of my favorite movies of all time is Dark City. Sewell's the lead in it. There's a director's cut out now that fixes the one change the producers required for the theatrical cut that truly detracted from the film. Check it out if you get the chance.

I'll go ahead and add Dark City to my Netflix queue. I mean, Rufus Sewell? Always win.

Yeah, you know, I wasn't enchanted by the Life on Mars pilot - the preair, or the second filming with the new cast. The British one was so great I don't think I could give the American one a chance. And I did hear that it took a long time to get on its own feet. Eleventh Hour trounces it in timeslot every week.

I think the best Eleventh Hour US did with Rachel was in the pilot - and it was the pilot that spurred me to write this :P

Brilliant. You packed a lot of plot, and emotion, into a minimum of words and gave both characters the substance we only catch glimpses of in the show. Very, very good.

Thank you! I really like the bits and pieces of snark that we get between the two of them in the show. I'm glad you liked ^^

Thank you! I had some trouble with Hood's voice; I'm glad it turned out okay.
