The first time she shocks him, in the cell, he grits his teeth. Sends her a look of disapproval, and it makes her heart sink in her chest.

This line, I thought, was very true to both the characters. Well done! :)

Elle - just craves approval. And of course Bennet would use words, glances, attitude to manipulate her. I mean. Of course :P

Very good. I liked the style you used to frame and break up the sections, the limited but still introspective look you gave us on Elle's POV. I never would have thought of or read this pairing with any other writer but I knew you would make it believable and worthwhile and I was right.

....yeah. This entire thing was a spur-of-the-moment ficlet based entirely on a two-second interaction between Elle and Bennet in the second episode of third season. AWESOME.
