(no subject)
First of all. Just to get this out of the way.
Urgh, my Maria came in the mail Monday and the back is RIDICULOUSLY SHORT wtf. They didn't have a picture of the back of the wig on the site but I assumed it was the same as the front but noooo. So yeah. That kind of sucks. The front is a little too short too, but only because it curls under a lot, so can fix that. I'm kicking myself for not buying the longer one that was even the same price but I was like "Oh, but then I'd have to cut an inch or two off and that will take oh so long" Learned my lesson there.
I might be able to take some of my old Maria wig and combine it with the back of this one. I've never done that before, though, so...idk. D:

Ok, onto the fun bit.
Firstly. I was looking through the ThinkGeek catalog that came with my Umbrella Corp Umbrella that step-dad got me for my birthday (along with the most bitchin' t-shirt in the entire world).
There was a t-shirt that just said in small letters "Look at me still talking when there's science to do."
Me: AHHHHHHHHH *runs into the kitchen to show mom* MOM THINKGEEK HAS A PORTAL SHIRT AND IT'S AWESOME
Mom: 'Look at me still talki-' AHHHHHHH ME TOO OH MY GOD THAT'S AWESOME. WE CAN MATCH HAHA.
Me: AHHHHHH
Mom: AHHHHH
Matt (step-dad): Guys what's wrong?
Mom: LOOK AT THE SHIRT. LOOK AT IT. READ IT.
Matt: .....ok....?
Mom and I: AHHHHHHHHHHH
It was great. It wasn't even that exciting but once we were like AHHH the first time we just kept going. XD
Secondly.
My dad comes home from work and is like "oh my new secretary says she knows you." which doesn't surprise me because I live in a small town, so 50% of the population knows me. But then he says "She went to Setuscon and apparently hugged you." and I'm like "....wait, what? awesome"
So he says "Yeah, she was showing me all these pictures because I wanted to see what it was like and she mentioned an...Officer Judy, was it? Jenny? That's it. Yeah, she says "This Officer Jenny kept giving me hugs" and shows me a picture, and I said 'That's no Officer, that's my daughter"
And then I was cracking up because I just thought of THAT'S NO MOON, THAT'S MY DAUGHTER.
speaking of which YOUR MOMMA'S SO FAT, LUKE SKYWALKER THOUGHT SHE WAS A SMALL MOON.
ANYWAY. So yeah, apparently my dad's secretary was NESS FROM EARTHBOUND at Setsucon. THAT'S AMAZING. She's apparently going to Otakon this weekend, which makes my dad want to go too, so she recommended some characters for him. Gendo from Evangelion and
wait for it
PROFESSOR OAK.
Which is hysterical if you know my dad. Because he pretty much is Professor Oak. He's even a professor. So yeah. He might be at Otakon....in cosplay... Sigh. I don't even know.
If he does go, I'll bring him to the Silent Hill photoshoot as Harry. Except I'm being Cheryl and ew father/daughter stuff. lol. not that I don't like my dad, I just don't like being all close with him. Like, I would never give him a hug. We're kind of awkward around each other lol.

Cosplay To-do list.
Maria
- Wig- Cut bangs, straighten a bit more, dye roots and tips
- Go around my house on a scavenger hunt for all the bits of the costume. lol organization. Make new choker and belt.
- Possibly fix the hem of the sweater if there's time. It's ugly looking.
- Apply butterfly tattoos that my mom got me for easter lol. she's so awesome.
- Finish top (fix a slightly crooked dart, hem bottom, attach collar, add hook and eye fasteners in back)
- Find a belt (no time for accuracy. I'm just going to find a brown belt)
- Style and cut wig
- Make the Shelly de Killer card
- Add puppy appliques (which turned out kind of shitty but I don't even care at this point)
- Sew on white finish to collar
- Draw that ridiculous picture of Harry onto the sketchbook, write COOWIGR DINOK on it (I don't even know. the game designers got bored and decided to keyboard smash on the cover of her sketchbook?), make the edges look dirty and beat up
- Dye my hair black
