Podcasts
kingofthewho has been talking about podcasts for awhile and once I got comfortable with my iPod, I started exploring the world of podcasts. Let me tell you - there are a lot of strange and passionate people out there. And believe it or not, there are at least 8 knitting/fiber podcasts! (of which I subscribe). Anyway, I have found this wonderful podcast site called LibriVox (http://www.librivox.org/). Here is their description. "LibriVox provides free audiobooks from the public domain. There are several options for listening." They also need volunteers to record chapters or books. So, if you like listening to books and you like podcasts, check this out. And if you want to read books for people, they can use you.
There is another one that I found run by an individual called Audiobooks with Annie. She's recorded Pride and Predjudice.
I haven't listened to any of these yet to see how they sound, but the concept is great to mention.
