you forgot the 'yo', yo. I always 'yo'. *chuckles*
That's probably the absolutely nicest chapter of the whole story so far, and even if Vinny's wallowing a little bit, it's more heart-warming than heart-breaking.
Gods praise the tongue-loosening effect of alcohol, ne? <3 But this chapter comes with a kind of warning...we see what could, and what we hope will, be their relationship. Vincent's issues run very, very deep and we've only scratched the surface. And as we all know, with Vincent in any canon, it's never that easy. Cid is in for a heartbreaking journey...but the payoff is SO worth it.
The 'yo's' make an appearance, have no fear! *laughs* I couldn't not put them in! Reno just needs to get into a bit of a twit before they "break out". XD
Oh, my...I am just *soaking up* the lovely complexity of these relationships, especially the deepening insight into both Vincent and Cid as portrayed here. Cid's utterly sweet humility, his *cuddlebear* nature where Vin is concerned. The ending is just too wonderful for words. Vincent returning to that beloved place of his past-somewhere Tseng had been trying to encourage, but it taking Cid to bring it to pass...I just wish I had the ability to communicate what marvelous emotional depth I have seen in this one small detailing within the framework of the magnificent whole...but I'm depending on you guys to hopefully read between my lines for it. EXCELLENT!! *hugs*
We got it! *hugs* I'm glad you picked up on it!! There are a few of those in this piece. But like I told fringe up above...this is only a glimpse. Vincent is damaged, hurting, confused...there are many more layers of Mr. Valentine than we have seen so far. The sad hope he tries so desperately to grasp and hold onto in this chapter when he sits down at the piano...it's heartbreaking. You will probably hate Vincent before this is over, but hang in there...practice some Highwind persistence! ^^
You know... this chapter is making me thing of Bohemian Rhapsody. Specifically one part.
"Mama, just killed a man. Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger now he's dead. Mama, life has just begun, and now I've gone and thrown it all away!"
Eeeee I loved that part about the piano =3. You two have completely made up for the last chapter. And the sexual tension begins!
Hmmm, that does sound rather appropriate given the content of the story and Vincent's situation *thoughtful*
Thanks! In so much of the fan fic that I've read with Vincent in it, the authors always make a reference to Vincent having pianist's hands, y'know, long graceful fingers, yadda yadda yadda...so I thought: I'll make him play the piano, as a nod to all those authors out there with visions of romance and beauty.
Sexual tension...I think these two redefine it...they also redefine "hellish relationships", not to mention "determination"...Oi Vey!
