I'm so happy. :) My friend April just loaned me her bootleg copy of the entire first season of the new BBC "Doctor Who" series from this year. It's so exciting! Geoff and I just sat down and watched 8 hours in a row! I think we only have 5 left. This is truly I think the best time we've had together in a while. We both loved the old version so much... it has a lot to do with how we met and became friends. I have this very long Tom-Bakeresque scarf I had special ordered over the internet and I used to wear it all the time. Of course most people around here would have no clue what it was about, but every once in a while, someone would ask me about it, and it would be exciting. (I know, I was such a dork ;) But Geoff knew what it was immediately and it was maybe our first real conversation. He always says something to the effect of "I knew a girl wearing a Doctor Who scarf was worth getting to know" or something to that effect. And for me, it was exciting to meet someone who appreciated the show like I did. I mean, the only way to see it around here was 2am on Saturday nights on Public Television, and not the cable PBS station either, the only way to even pick up the channel was with an antenna. (Even when I had cable, I kept a set of rabbit ears on top of my TV that I had to bend all sorts of crazy directions to get the channel, and even then it was fuzzy). I dunno, things always seem cooler when they take so much effort to find, don't they?
Well, in any case, we both love the new series and we based a very wonderful 8 hours this evening. I suddenly feel 17 again ... when I could be dorky about stuff and everything wasn't so serious...
