Another lazy uneventful day, but a happy one.
Very tired though, so I'll be brief. But you all like brief, right?
Went and saw Yamazaki-san's work place early in the morning. Interesting.. although I still don't understand exactly what his company does. Something to do with paint.
He runs this company, and also tends to a rice field. He seems to take a lot of pride about that, considering how the Japanese have been living off rice for 3000 years.
Went out for lunch with Yamazaki-san and Nobuko-san -- A little ramen place, slightly bigger than the one we went to in Nagano.
At the front of the shop was a bookshelf full of manga, and many customers had picked some up to read while eating. Nifty little idea!
There were these two old ladies at the next table who kept looking at me... they must have said to eachother "Kawaii yo ne!!" 5 or 6 times before Nobuko-san turned around and told them my whole story. They just kept laughing to themselves and saying everything I did and said was "kawaii yo ne!!"
It was very... odd. And embarassing. But nice, nonetheless...
Spent most of the rest of the day hanging around, websurfing, chatting, reading, etc. until supper, after which Kazuko and I watched Return of the Cat, another movie by what's his name, Miyazaki. It was very cute of course, and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Sorry if my posts haven't been as entertaining as they should be, but I still want to record stuff for myself whether or not it's a huge important day.
Besides, I got almost no feedback on the coolest and most cultural day yet, and the post I put the most time and effort into, the Gion Matsuri. >.< People ask for detail, but then are intimidated by the length or something...
And then 41 comments total on the one last week just about how I didn't do anything interesting that day. It's ironic...
Edit: Oh yeah, also my parents informed me yesterday that my green card arrived in the mail!!!!!!!
I don't usually use tons and tons of !!!!!!s, but this occasion calls for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But apparently the card is white. Go figure.
