Stuff and more stuff.
I just saw "DISTURBIA" for the first time. I totally enjoyed it, I bought it a while ago and just opened it now. It's very entertaining.
So, I saw "FRIDAY THE 13TH" and it rocked. Yup, I totally dug it. It was smart, had its moments, and definitely paid tribute to parts 1-4. It wasn't as gory as one might expect but I know they saved that for the all too common UNRATED DIRECTOR'S CUT when it comes on DVD. I saw the movie for the midnight showing and then again saw it on Sunday afternoon. Yeah I saw it twice, can't wait for it on DVD. Only thing that bothers me, is that there was no Crazy Ralph in it :( That's the old guy from parts 1 and 2 that goes around warning kids that they're doomed!!!
So Valentine's Day was pretty special for me, lol. Not. Fuck Valentine's, no one loves me and well, mmm, yeah. My brother, Luis, and I hung out on Saturday and we went to this Italian restaurant that was so delicious. It's called "Sal's" and it's on Miramar Parkway. The best part about it was that they have an early dinner special from like 3-6 PM. It includes the entree, soup or salad, drink, and dessert. I had the angel hair with meatballs, vegetable soup, NY cheesecake, and raspberry iced tea. Oh so satisfying. We later went to MovieStop where I traded in a bunch of DVDs and got some new ones. Being that it was Valentine's I decided to love myself and the family. I bought a brand new Samsung HDTV and a Samsung Blu-Ray player. I wasn't expecting to buy that this past weekend but I had been looking to upgrade. The TV is so bitchin', I still don't have it because Best Buy was sold out but it should arrive this week. It's a 40" full 1080p HDTV with 3 HDMI slots. I bought my first Blu-Ray disc, which I'll see when we finally install this sucker...the flick, Spike Lee's "Miracle at St. Anna".
Oh President's Day, what a glorrrrious day off. My schedule went like this.
1 - Sleep in late.
2 - Go to gym.
3 - Clean room.
4 - Organize DVDs.
5 - Watched "THANK YOU FOR SMOKING", hilarious, Aaron Eckhart is a great actor.
6 - Sleep.
Today was an odd day. I got new glasses!!! I had ordered them a week ago and they finally came in. They're some black geek glasses, sort of like the Prada ones I have. The frames on these are a bit thicker. They're Polo, so embedded in the black frames on each side, is the Polo logo. I totally love them, they're comfy and well thank God for insurance.
I also went to court today to pay off 3 tickets that I got last Tuesday. It totally sucked, last week as I was leaving my weekly allergist appointment, I got stopped by the cops on NW 36th Street in Doral. I was messing around with my headlights because I had them on and the cop said that I was getting a ticket for that. When he asked me to give him my insurance and registration, I couldn't find them. They were in my glove compartment along with a bunch of other papers. I had to take my time looking for them while the cops continued with their speed trap. The cop told me to notify him when I found both items. When I did, I notified him and he gave me 3 tickets!!!
1 - flashing headlights
2 - no insurance
3 - no registration
Yeah, he told me I took too long to find the insurance and registration, the fuckin' dick. Well I went to go take care of it at the courthouse in Hialeah today. I got there at 11:45 AM. I had to grab a ticket, I was #180 and they were at #7, so yeah, I was there until 2:30 PM. What's the point of having 10 windows when you're only going to open 3 of them. What a waste of my time, I hate that cop more than ever. Hero my ass, fuckin' dick. So yeah I paid $134 dollars today.
1 - $114 for the non-moving violation, ticket prices went up again by the way.
2 and 3 - $10 each for showing proof that I had my registration and insurance.
No points on my license, but a sore ass after sitting on wooden benches for almost 3 hours. Plus I got to work at 3 PM, totally wasn't expecting that.

I wonder how the recession is affecting them? I actually read on CNN that rappers are starting to take a more practical approach to bling. With our new president, they feel that they have to be more socially conscious and aware of their surroundings and how they flaunt their riches. So instead of 5 necklaces, only wear 2?
