CONTROL

I saw CONTROL tonight. What a powerful film. I love the whole Joy Division/New Order story and am a big fan of their music. This film is about the late Ian Curtis, a tortured genius. I was at work today and my boss Julio asks me if I've seen the movie yet and I'm like, nooooooo. He's like, they're finally giving it in the theater across the street. I was like, whattttt??? I swear I've been trying to see this film since it's October 19th release in the States. It's an ultra limited release and Anton Corbijn's first film. I called Luis and David to invite them to see it. They were super excited and we saw it tonight. Crazy, funny, depressing, etc. all wrapped into a 2 hour film. I can't wait to own this on DVD. All the actors that played Joy Division including Sam Riley (Ian Curtis) played their instruments and sang. Amazing performances all around. If you can, GO SEE IT!!! Their songs mean so much more now. The whole film just captures this amazing moment in time. He was only 23 when he died as a legend.
