I really hate this song. I think the rule is that no matter how much you like something to begin with, once you have to perform it, it becomes The Enemy. Unfortunately, since we sing it all the way across the room from the piano, the best way to learn when to come in is to listen to it constantly, because the piano is no help at all. And I really think we ought to have percussion on this one - and on Mad Bomber, too. I was trying to learn the words (ahem) today and I listened to it on the CD, and I was like...oh, it's supposed to sound like that?

Anyway.

I got my Christmas Dance dress today. It's black with a lacy skirt that floats to about mid-calf - very cute, and the last one they had in my size. I'm tempted to dress it up with long gloves and pearls or maybe a jacket and hat - one nice thing about flying solo is that I don't have a date to impress, and I don't have to look traditional, which means I can have a lot more fun with it.

I still have application essays to finish for Dickinson and Gettysburg. Now that I got into PSU, I really don't care about the other schools, but I need to apply because I already asked for rec letters...but I am utterly uninspired. Blah.

The play is next weekend...I still can't quite believe this. I still need a "gym uniform" - Jana wanted to make shirts, but I wonder if we'll have time. Costume changes in this play are going kill me; I envy the nuns.

I did the cookie bake thing, which turned out to be...interesting. No one at home lets me eat raw cookie dough, so I went a bit crazy and ate a lot, plus all the failed cookies that broke or didn't bake properly. I never want to even see a cookie again, so what does dad decide to do today...bake cookies. I hid in my room - actually, I took a four-hour nap, which was quite nice.

Time for the Week Before The Play - then I get some semblance of a normal life until after Christmas. Whew.

college, cookies, christmas dance insanity, black patent leather
