Okay, so here's a brief summation of my past several weeks:
After 35 straight hours of flying I made it safely from Chiang Mai to Chicago. I spent four days in Wheaton seeing people and moving stuff around. During that time Joe and I had several angst-filled talks. Then I flew home to lovely, mountainous Seattle, where I've been ever since. For four days, my mom, sister and I were joined by our friend Molly the Mountain Woman. We had a lovely time full of estrogen and treehugging. Then came Christmas, which is always lovely. After Christmas, I spent a week doing nothing. Then Joe (formerly known as SA or The Boy) and I broke up. It was fairly amiable, and I think we MAY just manage to remain friends. For New Years I spent an evening hanging out with friends in a very low key, low stress environment (read: we didn't really do anything, but it was still fun). Yay friends! Now I have two days before I go back to Wheaton (okay, so a day and a half) and LOTS of work that I didn't do. Like that paper that was due in November. Ooops. That's what teh semester is for, right? Of course right. j
Oh, I also made an incredible white chocolate/raspberry cheesecake with a shortbread crust. Yum.
I am now going to bed, because that's just the sort of exciting life I lead.
One more thing: Now that I'm single again, I can celebrate Valentine's Day the way it's meant to be celebrated: wearing all black and watching six hours of BBC produced Pride and Prejudice. Hooray! There IS a silver lining afterall!
