For future reference, if someone lends you items which you
know are near and dear to them, it should be common courtesy
to NOT keep them for over a month's time. And to say you
thought they had already been returned? That should have been
your job, since I lent them to you specifically, not your
family. I am sure that a young man about to attend college is
quite capable of understanding etiquette and owning a certain
level of maturity. Therefore, the fact that your mother
returned them for you is not saying much for your character.
If you don't understand these concepts, I am deeply sorry.
Also, I DID call, several times, and left messages for you.
The fact that you did not get them is not my fault.
So, please, next time you make an attempt to apologize to
someone, do not, in the same context, direct blame at them or
anyone else. Pat has been a better person to me, despite
everything, than you ever have been.
