Hey all!

I am back from Italy! It was incredible!!! So here is a quick run down of the trip.

We spent three days in Rome, saw all the tourist-y sites, and spent a day in the Vatican (we're Catholic, so we kind of felt obligated) wandering through the church and the museum. We missed the Pope by a day... but oh well. We both liked the old pope better anyways. Then we went to the Spanish Steps, and Trevi Fountain and the rest of the typical tourist places. We had the BEST pizza ever the first night we were there. I had let my sister pick the restaurant... but I guess she didn't notice the rainbow flag and the name "Coming Out" on the wall. Oh well... Italian gay bars have some good food.

Florence was next, and it was by far our favorite city. We wandered through Biboli Gardens, and went to the Uffizi museum, and went on the "Secret Passages Tour" through an old palace. That was pretty cool... there were doors hidden behind paintings, secret staircases that lead down to a dock on the river, etc. Plus the food there was amazing! Had the best Tiramisu at a street-side cafe by our hotel (and the waiter was adorable... he put tiny Italian flags at the top of our desserts).

Venice was our third and final city, but I think by this point we were pretty worn out. Maybe we didn't give Venice a fair shot, but neither one of us were impressed. We didn't really do much there... we wandered to the Ponte Rialto and took a water bus out to Murano (the glass making capital of Italy). We were hoping to see people making glass, but we went on a Sunday, so most places were closed up. And then we spent the majority of Monday getting souvenirs for everyone (which is the quickest way to make a trip go sour). We hated everything we saw... couldn't figure out what to get for the boyfriends' dads... it was just bad. But they had great pizza and desserts only a few doors down from our hotel, so it made the city a little more bearable.

So ya, basically, it was a great trip... so I really recommend that if yall ever wanna travel abroad, you should check out go-today.com.
