Well, for example, I would visit a shrine or a temple with my family, after midnight, or we would go to watch the first sunrise of the year. I also sometimes might play a game of karuta with friends on New Years.

No idea, I'm kind of new here, but I'm partial to the rooftops. Pick a tall building and you can see the whole city.
