Holy Long Update Batman!

So today's been a mix of stuff. It was my last day of teaching at Oakmont. As much as the twerps can be really annoying sometimes, I'm going to miss them. Now Mrs. Donohue gets to deal with them. In a way I feel bad for both parties involved there. It's kind of funny; my A Block class was a pain to begin with, and C Block was pretty good, and 4 months later, it was the exact opposite. Yesterday I made cards for all of my students as ThankYous for a good semester. I also bought Mrs. Donohue a basket full of goodies, which she loved. I love giving people presents! :)

So, today was random. I went to see Star Wars with my brother at midnight at Cinema World. I was reprimanded today by Jen and Mike who went to see it at Searstown... Sorry guys! So I ended up going to bed around 3am. GO SEE STAR WARS (by the way)! And because it was my last day and I earned it, and MCAS makes the schedule go round and round, I got to come in late. So I came into school at 9am, which means I got to sleep until 8am! WEEE! I get to school, and it's just before A Block, so I gave Mrs. Donohue her present, and got hugs! I <3 hugs! Well, A Block started, and Mike randomly walks in and sits down and says "I don't feel like going across the hall, go convince Ms. Lilly." Out of pure confusion I told Betty that I had Mike, and asked if she would like him back, or if she wanted to get rid of him for the day. She chuckled, and proceeded to say that he was late for class, and to send him over. Needless to say, Mike apparently got 3 detentions for that one. Ouch. Tres ouch. Leo and Nate went down to the cafeteria and asked the lunch ladies to make me cookies for my last day. They proceeded to come back with a GIANT tray of cookies for the class.

Now, let's just take a moment and talk about Oakmont's cookies. They are BY FAR hands down the best cookies I've ever had, especially from a school. Yay cookies! They come in all sorts, but mainly chocolate chip and rainbow chip. We had a variant, which could be classified under chocolate chunk.

Back to my day.

So, I started my class sans Michael. We reviewed a little bit, went over articles. Same ol' same ol'. Then, due to lack of ANYTHING else to do, and the incapability to control 20 bouncing children with cookies, they had a freeforall study hall esque day. There's nothing better than giving seniors, with senioritis, the chance to do nothing. They get bored out of their minds! Well, the end of class FINALLY came around on the gee-tar, and I went to get the Chinese food for C Block. I told them in the first week of school or so that we'd have Chinese food on my last day, and the little buggers held me to it. So $100 in Chinese food later (thankfully it was not all my money) we had quite the feast. I think the highlight of C Block was the random kid who came in. Inky or something I think ended up being his name. Dan came back from A Block too; I told him I'd give him extra credit for going to class twice in the same day.

School ended, I made a Gatsby Test. That was fun and exciting. I'm so glad I don't have to give it to them! HA! They can all fail. Hee hee hee... Buahahaha. Actually, I think I only have 3 kids that I'm failing alltogether. And it's only because after about 689 warnings they STILL have not done any work this semester. It's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! I went home for about an hour, practiced my clarinet for a little while. Ruthie and I are playing at the LHS graduation, as 2 of their clarinets are graduating, and can't very well play Pomp and Circumstance while walking. So, Hunchback has crazy runs in the piano, and seeing as Esther got the music today, but I haven't picked it up yet, I practiced with that.

Somewhere around 445 or so I trekked back to my long lost school as of tomorrow after school, and went to watch the Select Choir's final dress rehearsal, seeing as I'll be shmoozing with Mickey next week during their concert. They're doing a Rent medley and in theory singing Somewhere from West Side Story. Although, after the couple hour rehearsal, in which Somewhere was having technical dificulties, it may be scratched. Rent started out iffy, but by the time the rehearsal was over it sounded awesome! YAY! A bunch of my Kiss Me Katers are in the choir, so it was nice to see them all again. I miss not seeing everyone everyday! It's hard to believe it's only been 18 days since the show closed. This month has gone by SOOOOO much slower than the rest of the time. Needs more KMK revival!

Okay, well that's the end of my day for the most part. I'm going to miss Oakmont. As a whole it was a really good experience, and hopefully (fingers crossed) at some point when I'm actually ready for a job and not Emerson they'll be hiring! We shall see!
