back from nyc...it feels strange to be home...when i left louisville, i left loving this city with a deep passion, my first day walking around and it seems so desolate. im sure it'll ware off but i guess ive been spoiled by manhattan and brookyln. the first thing that got me was waiting for a tarc bus, after 15 minutes i said fuck it and walked down to walgreens from my crib...the subway rules ass. i got about everything done that i wanted to do in new england, visited my musical mecca, bought some kicks in bk, saw ground zero (surreal, something about standing at the murder scene of around 3,000 people makes you feel odd), lots of graffitti, good food...boston got to see marianne and had a great time, got to spend time with my uncle and his husband (i guess that would make him my uncle too? i dunno. this is a brand new cultural thresh hold we're at people) on their farm. lama the god animal!
for real, mu uncle is the man. he was a big influence on me in high school with when i was submerged in philosophy and religion. i took my saints name after him (to the Church i am nicholas scott patrick owens). whenever i hang around him and i hear his stories (been to europe ten times, lived all over the country, a masters degree, adopted two kids, etc etc) im like "what the shit am i doing?"
in comrardery with my currently displaced counterpart, i do not give a fuck about the bs here any more. really. as i took the afore mentioned walk down bardstown road, i got to thinking about how wrapped up so many people are in such miniscule bullshit. its like everybody is crowded around and focused on one little shoebox diorama on life while the world is raging around them. its not that important fuckers. and not to say that im not guilty of it either but hell, lets wake up.
random thoughts:
i put my pictures from new york through my tv via the AV cable, and not only is the resolution and picture quality of "tea hands" magnified by about a thousand times, but the comedic factor is as well. your package will be coming soon including various flics of the trip.
holleigh, i am home, bring me books. now!
