No, no, not at all! I promise you, completely unrelated. I didn't feel heated about that entry at all, I find it fascinating and it was so cool because just as you wrote it I'd been at a lunch where we'd talked about so many things that intersected with what you were talking about. And further, that isn't a topic that I feel really heated up about in general... I feel just as conflicted about it as you do, sometimes.
This came more from... I don't know, just general thoughts... as well as reading message boards that I frequent and seeing people get all heated up about topics that inevitably get divisive. For example, on Ravelry there are topics that you just literally should just never bring up in the forums, because they always lead to fighting in a hurt-feelings way (instead of just a debate way)... they include copyright, acrylic yarn, vaccination, breastfeeding (a lot of Moms on Ravelry) and sometimes religion... I know there's a few more right now but nothing comes to mind.
And then there was when a friend on Facebook posted a link that support her views on a certain controversial topic, and the link was just so full of factual errors and bad science that I was pretty surprised that she would even post it. And then I was watching Richard Dawkins and trying to work out how I feel about him... and he's a pretty divisive character as well.
Basically it was a swirl of things. But most of all, it was about how I feel about posting things in MY journal... because it's something about putting it all up in one place for all to see, like posting a sign that describes who I am. I find it way easier and less confrontational to respond to someone else's thoughts... but then, of course, I worry that they're going to feel weird about my response, lol. So I hope you didn't feel weird about mine :)
