Your Name: Jennifer Han / Hanshi
AIM: atlawkthx
Your character's name: Nami
Series your character's from: One Piece
Background info on your character:
Nami is the navigator and somewhat of a co-captain of the Strawhat Pirates. She was raised by her foster mother (who was killed later) on a small island which was terrorized by Mermen Pirates. In exchange of the village's safety, she agreed to work for the leader of the pirates, Arlong, drawing maps of all the places they've been. On top of that, she also had to steal or earn 100,000,000 berries/beli for their freedom. During her normal rounds of stealing gold and jewels from other pirates, she met Luffy, Zoro and Usopp. At first, she thought they were just regular disgusting pirates, but came to like and trust them a lot. This eventually led to Luffy beating the crap out of Arlong for Nami and freeing her village from their reign. She joins them as their navigator, because 2 out of the already accumulated 3 men at that point had no sense of direction whatsoever.
On their voyage, she realized her uselessness in battle and took up a weapon created by Usopp. It's called the "Clima-Tact", and it utilizes the weather to be used as an offensive/defensive weapon. Or an instrument for entertaining people at parties.
Personality Descriptions:
Nami is a bossy and authoritative female, usually taking charge when it comes to managing the tasks on the ship and guiding the crew down the right path on the vast and unpredictable ocean of the Grand Line. She can be manipulative when it comes to getting what she wants, and hardly feels any remorse for those she causes misfortune for - unless there's a good reason for her to be. Her inability to tolerate idiocy causes her to blow up quite a few times, since she sails with the whole lot of them, but it's usually done for comedic effect and rarely gets seriously mad at anyone for long.
One important fact about Nami: With money, anything is possible. Her favorite thing is money and tangerines, although she will squeal with joy and happiness whenever presented with a mountain of it. And if you mess with her tangerine trees (that are planted on the ship somewhere), prepare for a beating because they are mementos of her beloved foster mother. She will do anything for lots of money or treasure (as long as it's a lot), and can be easily manipulated by it.
Also, what they were doing when they got pulled to the island, any relations with anyone else?
Nami was just heading off to the deck from her room after a long day of drawing maps. There's always much work to do after escaping from a creepy zombie island, right? So, when she opens the door, she ends up on a beach, alone, tired, and very confused. She has relations with a couple of people on this island, like Zoro, but they don't always get along too well. And of course, Luffy is her captain.
Sample post: (First person point of view, please)
I can't believe this. We were so close to getting to the Merman Islands, even having a mermaid guide and everything, but I suppose the Grand Line works in mysterious ways. Even things that are so seemingly impossible like opening the door from my beautiful room to the deck, and finding myself on an island.
WHAT IS THIS?!
I worked so hard to get us away from Sea Kings, serpant currents, and all the while monitering the weather, checking for storms and somehow getting the boys' asses in gear-- I can't take this anymore! I don't even have single cent on me... ohhhh, my life just couldn't get any worse. I'm so miserable! If I had at least some money on me, I could buy myself a ship and sail out to find the others. They couldn't have traveled that far.
Oh, but what am I thinking? This place looks so deserted. Even if I had all the money and treasures in the world, I couldn't buy myself a boat if there isn't any shops to buy from. I'm not like Usopp or Franky that can just build a raft or a boat. Ahhhhhhhh, what to do?! Ahhhhhh, I just want to cry!
A list of things your character might have on them after they got snatched up and put on this island:
+ Her weapon, the "Clima Tact"
+ Log Pose - a special sort of compass
