Dico Veritas

Speak truth
and I'll listen with open ears,
captivated, waiting to hear something that will shake the foundation,
the core,
of who I am.
Simple words go so much farther
than religious  diatribes lacking in spirit, in heart,
in the roooted knowledge of the Love that transcends human understanding.
You don't need to be Paul, Luther, Wesley, King,
to speak words that inspire revolution--
this revolution will begin small,
with one step, one song, one hand, one arm
that embraces what was not embraced.
One question that pushes expansion of expectation.
One question that humbles us when we realize
that answers will not be found today, tomorrow, or the next,
but we are blessed
because we can seek and hope for some kind of resolution,
for change from this revolution.
We all have "dreams"
but let us awake from this slumber
and rise to move in a new direction,
to act upon those subconscious wonderings.
Plato wondered
"can we know whether we are asleep or awake?"
Yet, it seems that we should not fail to push forward
in any conscious state--
can't a true revolutionary intertwine dreaming and waking
so that both cause us to see how love,
Love can touch us, change us, mold us
into vessels that contain, reveal, reflect
the agape love that infinitely
waits, seeks, searches,
for moments to quietly whisper,
"Be still.
Be still.
Be still."
And this heart will bow and see that,
truly, this moment of listening is more than hearing,
it is a step in the right direction.
