Haven't watched the vid yet but just wanted to say -- Is it just me or in that first photo does Richard look particularly dashing? Sort of slap-me-in-my-pirate-costume-and-I'm-on-my-ship sort of dashing? No? Just me then...

And in that fourth to last one (arms akimbo - though I think he's just hoiking up his jeans!) he looks like my brother when we visit historical places. He always has to do really stupid poses (accompanied by a range of silly faces), just because he can. (I have a PERFECT example of this from holidays but annoyingly don't have it uploaded or on this computer! It's exactly the same pose!)

Yes!!!!!!!!!! He absolutely does, and you are *not* alone!!! Richard is obviously begging me to write more historical au, don't you think? Hehe, and maybe your brother wants you to make him the dashing hero of your stories ;)

:D Although now I'm remembering that amphibious car 'sail-across-the-Channel' challenge - and didn't he end up rather clinging to Jeremy in that? Or is that my, er, distorted memory telling me fibs?

And, dude, you know I'd right there if you wrote Richard as a pirate. (I thought you had a story in the works with Jez as a pirate and Richard as a cabin boy, or is that something else?)

My brother already thinks he is everyone's dashing/piratical hero.

Gratuitous clinging is rather good...we all know Richard would be the cabin boy and Jeremy the pirate captain, anyway...

Haha, I wrote that first bit of my response before I even read the second bit of your comment!! I'd forgotten I even had, but you're probably right...

Hehe, go your bro'!

But he'd be the kind of cabin boy that wouldn't be quite happy with being just the cabin boy. The sort of half-mutinous "I'd be a better pirate captain than you" kind of cabin boy (though still enjoying the 'perks' of being said cabin boy). Yes/no?

He absolutely would, and would annoy everyone to death about it, especially first mate, James...which is what would make it so much fun ;)

Haha, yes. No doubt he'd been willing to enjoy the 'perks' ;)

*giggles* First mate James, who would also be the Grand Navigator, but despite all his fine equipment and expertise, would end up getting them all lost? Repeatedly?

He made James his cabin boy, Roger. And managed to sneak the phrase "Roger the cabin boy" (well, technically "Roger, the cabin boy,", but his comma placement is not to be relied on) on television without anyone noticing.
