so I made all kinds of plans to go out ans see a bunch of ppl for my last weekend of summer. Friday night Em and I headed down the Cape to see Tristan and his friends from school. Fun/so random night! We got back early on Sat. and I went to Bri's grad party then had to rush and get Seth to head to NH with Julie and Justin to camp out for the night/all day sunday, or at least that was the plan.
*So things were off to a bad start when I got back late then had to rush to Attleboro to get the boy and we finally made it to Julie's at like 7 (meaning after the 3 hour drive we'd have to set up tents and everything in the dark). But we were all still excited and headed North.
*After about 2 1/2 hours we get to NH and Seth's car starts overheating (which happens sometimes on long drives and such) so we have to drive with the heat on, and it was like 100 degree that day so not fun.
*About 10 min. later we pull into a camp ground that was full. Julie tells us her car was overheating as well, really bad though, the hood was smokin like crazy. So we all get out and Seth lets out the steam and adds coolant and water and whatever. No one's cell had service in NH so we were on our own. The cars cooled down and we decide to try to make it to the campground.
*After about 5 min. Julie pulls into a day-time campground b/c her car is smoking again. The boys walk to a pond and fill up bottles and a cooler of water and we try to cool down both cars. But the fans in Julie's car weren't working. So for 2 hours Seth is taking out fuses and doing all kinds of stuff, but fixes the fans!!! ... so we keep going looking for our campground (by now its 10pm)
*Well that good luck only lasted about 10 min. and then horrible rip crash boom noises start coming from Seth's car and we pull over on the side of the road. Seth gets out and looks and somehow a spark pug had shot out of where ever spark plugs are suposed to be. Of course there is only 1 special tool that can screw it back in, not to mention we didn't know why it happened, and no one has service. So we no phone, and no way to fix the car. Seth unhappily searches through everything looking for something to use and the 3 of us kind stood around trying to think of something.
*After about 15 min. I figured its not gonna hurt to flag down one of the cars zooming by us, maybe someone has a cell that's working or something. So Justin flags down the next car .... and would you believe it, it was a TOW TRUCK! They were already towing a car but were gonna drop it off and come back from us. Julie has the good AAA so we could get at least 100 miles free. Let left and we set up our chairs on the side of the highway, toasted some marshmellows over a lighter, and just chilled.
*2 hours later, putting us at about 1am, the tow truck comes back, and we all hop in Julie's car. The truck drivers were by far the sketchiest people alive, we had to go to their shop first I dunno why, and well just let it be stated ther were odd even for tow truck drivers. After not sleeping much the night before I fell asleep here and pretty much for the rest of the adventure.
*So after 100 miles we're about 1/2 way home and the tow truck drops us off at a truck stop, they said they wouldn't take us all the way ot Attleboro. Justin checks his AAA card and he's got a gold card too so we call another tow truck cause now we get another 100 miles free.
*While waiting for the 2nd tow truck Seth sets up his chairs outside, they snack a little, I pretty much stay asleep in the back of the car.
*Tow truck #2 shows up at about 4:30/5:00am, Seth goes to grab his chairs but while we were all like 10 inches away sleeping in the car someone stole his chairs!!! crazy (of course we didn't realize this til we were home). So we drive all the way back to Seth's house following the tow truck.
*7am and we are all back in Attleboro, towing the car from NH cost us $2, the only camping we did was on the side if the highway, and that was our night!
unbelievable!
