A friend writing a research proposal asked for a paragraph on the intersection of beauty, media advertisement and government policies concerning the two issues. A quick run around on the internets (haha), gave me this sad but totally unsurprising ... ( I have no idea how to label it)
And the hilarious denial/investigative reporting/commentary providing the context for the viral aforementioned chopped-up YouTube video. And the full unedited parody that would require a Malaysian explanation (and even then, some Malaysians of a certain age/race/culture/economic background would still be having problems getting the full picture).
