Yeah, the moon looks pretty cool out there. One of the few times the clouds have not obscrued an atronomical event. No photos though, our cameras are not built for in the dark, far away photos. But Facebook has plenty.
I meant to post Friday but didn't. An unusual event happened. Someone dumped yet another dead animal at the cemetery. You can tell by the smell in the bag. So we took it up top to bury it, as we had been instructed to do by the ACO. But before we gave it last rights, Cuz rightly wanted to make sure it was indeed an animal. I dont blame her, you never know what you might find dumped in the trash. She we disected the bags, and found that it was probably a dog or fox, (I figured dog) and if that wasnt bad enough, it had it's face, eyes, nose, mouth, all taped up. So that's when Cuz called the police and the ACO and got him to come out and take a look. He in turn called a woman who does animal phorensics, and the guy that takes evdence, and they came. The woman said it was a dog, middle aged. Probably a Chauwawa (fuck the spelling, and thanks again LJ for not having a spell check). They took the dog for a necropsy(?) animal autopsy. Sadly it was not microchipped. That would have been just too much luck. I doubt we'll ever hear any more about it, but it would be really nice if they could get some prints off the bag and have them on record. I can only imagine some asshole got sick of hearing the dog bark an did that to it. I hope they die of a drug overdose. Assholes.
Other sad news is that a kid I went to school with, who I knew a bit but not well, just died last week. Accidental by car. He was a few years oler than me, but oddly graduated a year ahead of me. He was an art teacher, and I recall that I thought he was 'cool' when we were in school. I've since met his father, not realizing it was his father, through my art assoc, and I've kept wanting to call him by the son's name, again, not realizing they were even related. Very sad. He was their only child. He leaves a wife and 2 kids. I'll be going to the wake.
On a brighter note, got together with the gang, all that's left of us anyway, for a nice day of chatting, eating and snuggling up to the fire pit with our marshmellows. Great way to end the summer.
