A quiet Fourth
Gone are the days of parties for every holliday. Its a shame in a way, we dont get to see friends much these days, but with the kids grown.... I guess that's the way of it.
Today we got together with just one couple, hung out and had some yummy BBQ ribs. Nothing crazy. It was nice to catch up. Left the boy at home.
Yesterday we went to a co-workers (of the hubs) and watched the multitude of illegal fireworks along the water in Plymouth. It was really fun. Well, except for the drunk or just stupid jerks who fired off a few badly aimed rockets. But generally it seemed these people knew what they were doing. We watched one guy setting up multiple tubes, half buried in the sand. He had litteraly boxes and boxes of fireworks behind him on the rocks, maybe 6 or more. Seemed like somethign out of a Bugs Bunny or Road Runner cartoon.
Its' been very cool this spring and summer. We've had a few days of humidity and heat, but nothing serious. I for one am not complaining. But I don't have a pool.... so I guess if I did, I'd be dissapointed. Mid 80's for the next few days.... I can take that..
Ryther's shoulder is better. Generally pain free or just a bit of pain.. Hoping it keeps getting better.
My backhoe is still out of commission. sigh......
The dry spring has gotten a good soaking of rain lately.. things are pretty green now. My garden is doing okay, I have a baby squash and some tomatoes, my beans are at the flowering stage.. Not a heck of a lot else out there.. although my onions look good.. hoping they actually become a decent size. I just finished with my strawberries, which did fantastic and which I was able to enjoy because I netted them. I froze a bunch, gave away a few cups... I hope to get them to spread more for next year.
Finished a small painting so I have 4 for the next show. Keep painting... keep painting.
