And DONE!

The Lady is done. She's not an exact copy.. she looks like her mother... or an older version of herself... slightly more full in the face. I would have liked to have fixed it, but you get to the point where you'd rahter have a good looking painting than a perfect one.. not that I'd ever get it perfect, but it's that point of 'dont fuck with it!'. And then you do and you go , "why did I do that? UG! " and you have to fix that. lol

All in all, I'm really thrilled with the painting. I need to copy people more often! Sargent in particular perhaps.

My next endevor is going to be a Klimt. The Embrace, to be exact. I'm picking it because it looks relatively easy.. (I think I thought that when I did the Sargent. HA!) I'm going to be using acrylics too, not oils which is my usual. That will be.. interesting.. But I think Klimt lends itself to acrylic. We'll see.

At least the one thing this does is it really forces you to LOOK at the painting. To try to decode what order the colors and strokes were put down.. that kind of thing.

In other news, we went to see the movie The Imitation Game. It was quite good. I watched the PBS version of his story with Deryk Jacoby a number of years ago and quite enjoyed it. This was also very good, Benedict Cumberbatch being quite good in the roll.

Tomorrow we are going to a 'talk' by the parents of a friend. They edited a book about a civil war soldier, who was a relative of one of theirs I belive. I'll find out tomorrow. We just happened to notice the sign for it today when I was returnign the art book for Sargent and getting some on Klimt. You have to love good libraries. :)
