That's right, Global Warming is over. This summer of below normal temps proves it. Oh I wish. But I am enjoying this moderate and wonderfully dry summer, thought the trees and the grass are not.
It's been so wonderful leaving the windows open all day, but for the time we go to work and have to shut them against the possibility of drug addicts robbing us, but that aside…
It's just so nice. Though to be honest, it feels like fall so much of the time. I still don't think I'm over last winter.
My garden grows. My hopes are pinned on the cabbage, the eggplant, potatoes and that's about it. I have gotten a decent bit of red lettuce, but that's coming to an end. I may get some gourds. Oh and I will have grapes up the ying yang. So I can replenish my jelly supply with luck.
There has been no sightings of the wren. I hope she made it. Or he. The hummingbirds are coming by regularly though, and my bee balm is in super full bloom so they visit that as well as the feeder. I actually need to prune out the bee balm, it's taking over.
The weather has been quite conducive to numerous dreams, though the cats certainly do their best to disrupt them. I woke up last night and actually though I should note what the dreams were that I was having, though they were so vivid I was like, no, I'm good, I'll remember them. And do I? No, of course not. lol
Have caught up on a number of series this summer. Just finished last season of Boardwalk Empires. Oddly we lost interest in this or missed it for whatever reason when it was on, and we had just started to catch up on Walking Dead, when we decided to try it again, and immediately got sucked in and couldn't stop watching until we finished it. Sadly one of my favorite characters does not make it through, but the tension in the show as great. Cant wait to see where it goes now.
We've also watched the new season of Orange is the New Black, and the series Fargo. LOVED Fargo… and OITNB is just great.. I could do without the heavy handed lesbian stuff, (I'm sorry, sometimes it gets over the top even for me) but other than that I love the story and characters.
Also went to see Guardians of the Galaxy, and was not at all disappointed. Nice build up from the disappointing Godzilla, to the enjoyable but not as good as the first movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, to this, which was a hell of a fun ride.
I didn't win anything at the art show this weekend. Well, I did win a raffle, so I pretty much broke even. I'm working on a painting I really like for the Sept. show. I need to get that done. I also want to put in some photos. I've never entered photos before. We'll see how that goes.
The cat seems to be doing well, though he still has stitches in and it's been almost a full month. I may have to bring him back in to get them out. I don't get what the hell is going on. But he seems okay.. Had a scare with some kind of blood spot on the floor last week.. but nothing seems to have come of it… so I have no idea what it was. Just bought 2 cases of special cat food for him at 2.00 a can… cripes. I can see this is the new money maker for the pet food industry. Prescription cat food. Make sure every pet has to be on it… just like they do with people. Yeah…. I can see it coming.
