Mice
I was going to look at a grave today that had its headstone covered by flowers. Late season pink mums. I don't know what variety they are but I have some here at home that a neighbor gave me. They are very pretty. These ones were in the sun, and they were covered in bees. Which is nice to see.
On my way back I realized we had flowers from a funeral we had not picked up. So I was picking them up (Cuz was in the truck on the phone about her son.. some kind of meltdown..) and one of the 'boxes' I picked up has a mouse nest under it. The mouse had built it in the time the box had been there, maybe 2 weeks? She had babies in there too. She was a pretty good sized brown mouse. I scared the crap or rather the piss out of her.. and when I moved the leave that was there over to get a photo of her and the babies, she ran, taking all her babies with her as they were all sucking on her. They held on though and they all got away, which I thought was pretty amazing. I put the box back, I wanted to take it but I figured she might go back to it.. if she doesn't that's okay, she'll make a new nest I assume.. I feel bad about her getting disturbed so I could take the picture.. but what can I say... I'm a photo hound. lol. She was under the cover of the hosta at least.
