Please, don't tell me about it. I don't want to know.

Today I went to start Biv's weed whip. I did this yesterday and today because she's been having so much trouble starting it. When I started it yesterday, it started like a champ. You do the same easy steps each time. You turn the switch to 'on', you put the choke in the start position, you pump the primer bulb 2 times and you pull the cord. It start with 2 or three pulls, you put the choke slowly to run, and away you go.

Today I went to start it, and I pushed the gas filled primer bulb. Its a little silicone? bulb that moves the gas along from the tank to where it ignites (Im guessing).  When I pushed it, a spray of gas came out. Thankfully it did not hit me in the face. I said "what the hell?" Biv asked what was wrong and I told her the bulb sprayed out gas, that there was a hole in it. She said "oh, it's been doing that for  while."  OK, first off, if it WAS spraying gas, WHY THE HELL DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING?  And second, I just started it yesterday, and it DIDN'T spray any gas.

This is why she is too stupid to stay. You don't have a defect in the equipment like that without at least TELLING me that it's happening. I need to know when things start to break so I can fix them, or at least be prepared to fix them. Like now I know I need to get a new bulb for the whip, or see if I can scramble one off the old whip. But things like getting parts takes time out of my day, so it's nice to be able to plan for it if I can. Which is why you TELL me about things that go wrong. God help us.

And that all aside, what the hell is she doing wrong that she can't get this started on her own?

On the up side... this will be the first week since Memorial day that she's been in every day. Assuming she comes in tomorrow.

Went to see Toy Story again tonight, this time with Himself and the neighbors.

I'm reading the Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. Fun so far.

Art open studio tomorrow. I'm going to bring paints to this one. I've done two sessions of drawing... now on to more complicated things.

Today was wonderfully damp and cool. We so need the rain, and then some. We never really got a huge amount here, but it's something. Of course the temps are going right back up again after this.

Three or four of my new windows have now popped out of at least one of the pins in the side that make them go up and down properly. I am hugely disappointed, and yet.. gee.. I guess vindicated that yes, everything made today is junk, and you should never try to change anything to something better, because it just won't be better. It's so incredibly frustrating. The guy is going to come back, but this just shouldn't be happening. Period. And as for swelling old wood, if that were the case, they should be getting tighter, not looser. If they are loose now, will they just fall out in the winter when the wood drys? Good lord.
