24 miles = less than an eighth of a tank

So that is what I saved by riding my bike four times (or has it been five) to work this summer. I was hoping to get more riding in, but the weather has been either too wet or too hot, or I felt too sick to ride. Or I had to do something on the way home which I needed a car for. Or I was just too sore from riding the other time and needed to let my bottom recuperate.  Now that I have gotten used to the riding part, the summer is ending and the school traffic will be starting soon.  Hrumph!  I also realize I need a mirror for the bike and I would like a bigger seat, and a rack to put things on. Maybe a cute wicker basket with a flower on it?  It would be nice to be able ride my bike to the store and get a few things.

We have a falcon of some kind at the cemetery. I've seen it a bunch of times, always in the same area. I believe that they had a nest somewhere there, and that I have been seeing the 'baby'.  It makes those baby bird kind of squawks, even though it looks about the size of a crow. And there have been spots where I have found a mess of feathers and bones from someone's meal.  Today there were two of the falcons flying around, one looked like it was attacking the other. I wonder if it was the mom or dad finally chasing off the baby, kicking it out of the nest as it were.  It's about that time of year I guess. I hope they stay around or come back next year. Of course, the rabbits might not agree with me on that one.

The Marshfield Fair starts this weekend. Not sure if we will go. I love looking at all the animals, but the thought of my kid on one  of those makeshift rides makes me nervous.  I also hate all the hawkers. They drive me nuts.  Like telemarketers. Hey, if I want to play, I'll come over. Don't yell at me though. I wonder if there will be fried dough? I love fried dough.
