Feeding frenzy

I ate too much.
My mom came down from NH to visit yesterday so we went to Bertucci's for dinner. I did not have the moose (yeah, I know it's not spelled that way), I just didn't have room for it. Then this morning we went looking for some yard sales, but due to the weather (hurricane Noel? is off the coast somewhere whipping up the wind and now showering us with rain) there were none. We did go to an estate sale that my mother and aunt had gone to the day before and my mother had gotten a braided rug at. She really really wanted the bigger braided rug that she didn't get the day before. I told her I would get it for her for Christmas, so she was happy. That relieves me of one gift. I also got a deal on some stuff. I got a small cast iron frypan and a Revere Ware pot, and some utensils for $2. Just the Revere Ware was marked at $4. so I got a deal by buying the rug, lol.
Its kind of strange being in someone's house going through their stuff knowing they are probably dead. I was in the bedroom looking around thinking about who this person was. And then when I was in the cellar there were still some old tools and things that  they were probably her husbands things. My mother made a comment about me having to do this, and we both joked about how she had to sort through her own stuff before she died so I would not have to. I should email her and tell her to take good care of the rug I bought her, it's my inheritance after all. (humor in adversity, right Mrs. Moose?)
After that we went to eat lunch and my mother and aunt both ordered the lobster and pumpkin ravioli. Now, I wouldn't think that pumpkin ravioli would be very good, but it was fantastic. I wish I had ordered it. I got an order to go for Rythter for his dinner. He enjoyed it.
The off to Home Goods to pick through all the stuff made in China. Well, they actually had imports from other places, Polish Pottery, and even some 'made in USA' art. I got a Christmas gift there that I couldnt resist. I have to get my list out so I know who I can cross off and what I have gotten.

Awesome, they are making a movie of THE MIST, a short story by Stephen King. Cool. I always think of that when I hear "Love the one your with" now.

We counted out Himself's candy finally. We usually do that on the night of the event, but we have just been too tired or busy. 150 pieces of candy.  Too much. That will last for months.

That's about it. I hope tomorrow is dry so I can put out some laundry. And I can't wait to sleep late! Ahhhhh.....

movies, death, himself, family, food
