God, Theo stop raining on everyone's parade :|highfivepriestNovember 24 2010, 01:21:36 UTC
If you think as much, Ezra, I suppose I can drop the formalities.
There's no need for you to apologize on someone else's behalf. But might I suggest that you make sure you're on the same page with your classmates, to prevent any such [he pauses here, still eying Anthony's letter from aside] damage control on your part in the future.
The way I heard it, these things - demons, the supernatural, whatever you want to call them - had been hiding in the city long before we've heard of them. If they don't want you to find them, chances are you won't.
A priest, to begin with, or perhaps a somewhat competent hunter. The pixies who tried to talk us into this must have a deathwish if they expect a group of untrained, untested students to save them. Meaning they expect us to rise to the occasion.
I can't see any satisfying outcome to this. Either we're drawn in even deeper, or things appear to go back to normal and we're left without any answers at all, unsure of anything else except for the fact we know that these demons exist, somewhere.
I don't find any of it to be a thrilling prospect, but good luck all the same.
Too bad Ezra didn't bring an umbrella :,D (Sorry for the edits!)cemetaryeyesNovember 24 2010, 19:28:38 UTC
[There is a slight pause before Ezra's reply. A few eraser marks here and there linger suspiciously, where he's thought better of it.]
My classmates can handle themselves just fine. I wasn't trying to assume responsibility for them, exactly. But this won't be the first misunderstanding, words can only carry across so much. I've written more letters in the past week than I've written the rest of my life put together, and I'm willing to bet a few others in my time are the same way. Culture shock's inevitable too, our times are very different. All that said, Locrine seemed to handle it pretty well, so what's your excuse Anyway, a little patience wouldn't hurt, Theodore.
Really? The way the demons on our side spoke of "moving in", I thought it was a recent thing... Well, my persona was able to locate them before, so it's not such a big leap of reasoning. Even if it failed, practice never hurt anyone.
I've been told I'm being a downer about this, but I think you have me beat pretty easily. Have a little faith in your classmates. Yeah, it's all very unsatisfying, but it wouldn't be the first time kids like us knew something awful and were powerless to do a thing about it. If nothing else, we'll be able to protect ourselves. And morals aside, you sound like a proud person. Are you saying you'd choose not to rise to the occasion if you had the chance?
Good luck to you too. No one's asking you to be thrilled, but a little less doom and gloom would be nice.
SORRY FOR TAKING SO LONG I BLAME SCHOOL :ChighfivepriestDecember 11 2010, 05:39:34 UTC
[Is Theo at all surprised to see that he ticked off yet another person? Nope. His penmanship is so neat and confident, it's probably past obnoxious, and probably a touch insincere.]
My apologies, Ezra. I'll be sure to make note of it.
I take it your Persona probably has the same ability as Locrine's? Please, do you and your classmates a favor, make sure you find as many as you can in Adessi, at least. Keep track of it. It's safer than not knowing if there's something waiting for you in your own dorms and classrooms.
They had to have come from somewhere, and I sincerely doubt that Abaton was completely demon-free beforehand if so many have decided to relocate here. They mentioned the city solving their problems, a rumor like that needs to be started by someone.
Whatever their reason for appearing, they're demons. They need to be dealt with as soon as possible. It's not a matter of faith. We simply have no choice. I'm not ready to believe so easily in their story of being hunted by something bigger; when have you heard of demons doing anything other than lying, and preying on those they perceive as weak and easy targets?

[He's over it and feels kind of awkward. Sitting quietly in an attic will do that.]
Thank you.
Ah, so Locrine's white rabbit can locate demons too? Wonder if there's someone on each side who can do each specific thing? I'll be sure to do that, I don't think my persona would let me ignore something like that anyway. I know I've been kind of rude, but you never told me what your Persona was like and I'm curious about it.
Heh, makes me wonder what kind of gossip demons get up to. I don't know much about them, but don't demons have a reputation for being arrogant too? If the ones we've met so far admitted to being scared of something, we shouldn't write them off so quickly. The ones we talked to were kinda small and seemed pretty desperate, like this town was some last hope for them... anyways, if we're able to talk to them at all, it's better than the alternative. If we could find any willing to do more than just hide and help us out, that'd make it a lot easier to trust them. Not to mention take some of the "responsibility" off our shoulders, if we agreed to that much.
It's fine. [No, it's not really.] Our situation has everyone up in arms. [But he's still not going to forget it :| ]
From what little experience we've had with them, it appears so. Mine, Aequitas, used electricity when we were attacked, and whenever it tries to communicate - as it often does - it sounds like it's coming through static. It's really rather distracting. I take it you've heard of the others through Locrine, then?
I can't think it'd be anything good. As much as I dislike the idea, it's probably best to get as into the loop as one can manage, as any information is better than nothing.
Noted. I'd like to avoid any outright violence if I can, but I'd have to draw the line at enlisting their help, Ezra. If you do so, I wouldn't put my faith in them completely. See my previous letter.
