Ahh...gotta love the xavier way. I should have known it was going to be a weird week from the beginning. I was walking into school monday morning with my horn and security guard mike decides to initiate a conversation:
Mike: What kind of instrument is that?
Me (politely): It's a french horn.
Mike: A french horn! Now you can be in the opera...
Because clearly playing the french horn qualifies me to be in an opera. Life continued somewhat smoothly until tuesday during english when Sr. Lynn decides that Renae and I are running the prayer service for the new Pope, which we of course have no choice in. We throw it together with much assistance from Mr. Distefano, then find out Sr. Lynn has called channel 3. An hour later I have been filmed and interviewed...being asked tremendously intelligent questions such as, "Do you think this new pope is going to alienate the youth? How did you feel when the new pope was announced?" And my personal favorite, "Do you think you are going to return to xavier to teach someday?"
It was a treat. Today I was forced to sit through the speeches of a student council already determined as there were not enough people running to fill all the positions...an election which they just kept insisting they wanted to be "legitimate." Yay xavier.
Je suis fatiguee...
